orion london

i need to step away from sample sale websites because they just lead me down a path of no good. but i am happy (and full of guilt) to say that i just scored this fabulous Orion London dress. i had never heard of the brand before but after a little poking around my best friend, the internet, i think i may have found retail heaven... because this is exactly what everyone would be wearing.

and here is a sample of my favorites:

mmm can't you just imagine those with a blazer, tights, and cute booties? or, for the summer, strappy sandals, headband, and cross-body little leather purse? i definitely know where i'm getting all of my summer dresses - now to convert the prices to american dollars and see if they ship to the united states! and thank god work just called me with the option of coming in a few hours early. i need to fund my obsession...

yay sales!

with christmas money burning a hole in my pocket, plus the invention of sample sale websites, i got ALL of the following items on sale for a total of $163 - which full price would have been $919. i'm such a good shopper :)

now if only i could find that awesome blazer i imagine in my head that i've been looking for for over a year...

lofts

yesterday i was killing some time in borders, which i should really do more often, and stumbled upon Lofts Design Source. now i know it's just another one of those "coffee table" type books - mostly pictures, very little text. but i looked through the entire thing and found some really interesting spaces.

the most inspiring space i found, however, was the Flex Loft by Archikubik. here are some of the pictures i found online...

you're going to have to click to make them larger (yeah, i was too lazy to edit the ones found on their site) - but it's the middle picture of the 1st image that had me all excited. i won't be able to afford living by myself in this loft i imagine for a while, but when i can i'm definitely going to have furniture all low to the ground. i've had a bit of an obsession with japanese design lately. so many of my projects the last 2 semesters have been japanese inspired, and i even wrote my research paper on traditional japanese architecture and how it bridges man and nature. yikes! being in school i think it might be best for me to find another obsession to experiment with.

oh, and when i get that loft it's also going to be covered in plants like this...

osborn design

yesterday, in my nyquil and benedryl induced coma state, i deliriously came across one hot child in the city - an amazing blog that has led me to equally amazing shoes. if only they were still in stock i'd be in love.

leanne marshall

you might remember Leanne from Project Runway last season, when the show was on Bravo and actually had talented designers (let's not even get into how uninspiring the final 3 of this season were). according to her blog though she's going to be coming out with a spring line in 2010! here is an image from her lookbook. a little reminiscent of lady gaga? not that that's a bad thing. i love myself some lady gaga and having toned down looks of hers to rock every day would be great!
