in my opinion, the only good things about it getting cooler outside are that i don't have to get up at 6am to go for a run, apples will be in season, and i can buy new clothes to layer. so, in recognition that the trees are soon going to look dead and depressing, i have for you "Garden By Be Area," a naturey-inspired salon designed by Kazutoyo Yamamoto of Dessence.

clay ketter
i'm obviously on a texture and pattern kick, but here are just a two images by clay ketter that i found inspiring.
and to quote the Arken Museum, who explains this form of art better than i could: "the former carpenter Clay Ketter constructs walls in the space between house-like interiors and modern abstract painting. They are at once narrative and void of references."

alex camlin
i love the combination of structure (the solid, flat shapes in the background) with the loose type, as well as his color choices. and upon research of this alex camlin i found that he got his BFA in graphic design from UMass Dartmouth... me too, me too!

edward burtynsky
about a year ago i found the image directly below in dwell and immediately tore it from the magazine and put it up on my wall (where it still lives).
and while this image remains my favorite of his, especially the quarry series from vermont, these new images i've stumbled upon just now are a close second. the pattern, the texture, the color... absolutely amazing.

woodsy
i love the thick slab of wood used for this platform bed. especially how the mattress is significantly smaller and how the comforter folds at the surface. i think i'm going to need 3 bedrooms in my future home... one with a bed like this, one with an iron frame (with head and foot board), and the last with a wood post canopy.
* as seen on apartment therapy.
